The Deemerton Winter Retreat for university students studying in the Diocese of Hamilton will take place from
Friday, January 25 to Sunday January 25, 2019
t the
St. Ignatius Deemerton Retreat Centre
in Deemerton, Ontario.
The Theme of this year's retreat is Christian Dating.
A bus will depart on Friday, January 25 from the University of Guelph, Parking Lot P31 on South Ring Road at 5:30pm and return on Sunday, January 27 by 4:00pm.
Waterloo Students will arrange transportation to the Guelph bus when registrations are received and we have a better idea of the number of attendees. Note: transportation from Waterloo to Guelph is not included in the price below.
The Retreat Centre supplies a dressed bed and towels.
Note: in recognition of the varying needs and course loads of students, most activities are optional. You can sleep or do school work if needed. This retreat should be a benefit to your current vocation and not a hinderance to it. The loose schedule for Friday night is as follows:
After our arrival at approximately 7:00 pm, Holy Mass will be offered, followed by a late meal. Then there will be a time of exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, during which time the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be celebrated and a talk will be given.
Note that Holy Mass will also be offered on Sunday morning.
The cost is $80, which includes transportation from Guelph to Deemerton and back, accommodations, and meals. Cheques should be made payable to St. Michael's parish.
Payment must be collected before you board the bus or upon your independent arrival at the retreat centre.
